Getting paid

We’re straight on rates

You deserve to work with an agency that is open and honest with you about your pay and any associated fees. At the Scottish Nursing Guild, we will always be honest with you. We pay what we say.

We pay what we say

At the Guild, we operate a Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) payroll which means that we always pay our nurses directly, and tax income at source.

We do not use umbrella companies or permit our nurses to operate under a limited company or via umbrella schemes. This is for two simple reasons:

  1. We don’t believe that these schemes generally benefit our workers
  2. We’re concerned that many of them may not comply with HMRC or Irish Revenue rules (currently or in the future)

We strongly believe that we offer the best all-round package, and most importantly, unlike other agencies, we always pay mileage back in full to our nurses.

Pension scheme with the Guild

Under the Pensions Act 2008, every employer in the UK must enroll their staff into a pension scheme and contribute towards it.

At the Guild, workers from Scotland and Northern Ireland will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension scheme three months after your first payment from us. You will automatically contribute 5% and we will contribute 3% for the current tax year.
