How long have you been working with the Guild?

“I joined the Guild team back in 2020. I work solely with the guild, providing ICU agency cover in numerous hospitals across Ireland.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“I am a compassionate intensive care nurse with 21 years of experience providing patient-centred care. I enjoy being able to handle a range of medical situations and emergencies with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

This year, the Guild approached me to assist in branching out as a community care provider. In this role, I have had the privilege of setting up and delivering care to clients who have high-acuity care needs and full-time nursing support in their own homes. It is extremely satisfying to see people with life-changing conditions returning to their own homes and families. The Guild have also sent me on a number of training courses to develop and improve clients’ care in their own homes.”

What attracted you to join the Guild?

“The rates of pay for our specialist skill set is what initially attracted me to work with the Guild. I take comfort in the fact that all our Guild nurses have to meet a high standard of excellence within our chosen field.”

How do you feel about being our Nurse of the Month?

“I am thrilled and proud to receive the recognition of Guild Nurse of the Month!”
