Celebrating the many talents of nursing professionals
2020 has been a challenging year but it has also been a year of creativity. We’ve heard stories of many people using their downtime as an opportunity to embrace their hidden talents, channel their inner creativeness and in some instances, set up small businesses to share their talents with the world.
We know that some of our agency workers have many talents outside of the world of nursing, and we asked them to share their stories!

”I am an international award-winning milliner with 5 years of experience making hats and headpieces for ladies going to weddings, races, or for editorial shoots for magazines. I decided to go full time with my business in July 2019 and since then I have won 1st place in the Lincoln International Millinery Competition and was a finalist in the 2020 Scottish Wedding Awards for best wedding accessory provider.
I also won the Fife Visual Artist and Craftmaker Award – the first person to win it who hasn’t come from a creative degree programme! No1 Magazine awarded me with Scotland New Business Innovator of 2020 award and in March I also received an EDM (Early Days Motion) from the House of Commons for recognition of all I have achieved in business in such a short space of time.”

”Terrariums are self-sustaining mini forests in a jar, consisting of various layers like gravel, soil, charcoal, moss and plants that don’t need much care. Terrariums are great decor for your home and can be placed anywhere in the house. They also make a great gift for your loved ones. I started this small business during lockdown as I was interested in plants and loved creating a variety of plant-related items.”
Prices range from €15 – €40

I decided to open a personal blog to help others feel better about themselves, and incorporated new methods to increase self-confidence. I don’t do it as a business, I do it to help others.
