NMC and NMBI renewal fee payment scheme – Terms and Conditions
- This offer is only accessible to nurses and midwives who work for the Scottish Nursing Guild and meet the following criteria:
- Has earned 180 shift credits since their previous NMC/NMBI registration renewal date.
- Has not fallen non-compliant since their previous NMC/NMBI registration renewal date.
- Workers earn one credit for each hour worked on a short-notice shift.
- Workers earn one credit for every two hours worked on an Advance shift.
- Any partial hour worked will be rounded up to the nearest full hour for credit purposes. Example: A 7.5-hour shift will be credited as an 8-hour shift.
- The duration of a worker’s lunch break will not be counted towards credit-earning hours.
- Nurses and midwives who meet the scheme criteria will be able to claim back the cost of their NMC/NMBI registration renewal fee from the Scottish Nursing Guild.
- All claims will be subject to tax, NI, PRSI and USC dedications and will be paid via bank transfer. Cheques, postal orders or vouchers cannot be requested.
- Claims will only be valid if the claimant is compliant at the time of their claim.
- Claims can only be made within 28 days from the NMC/NMBI registration expiry date.
- Claims must be made online via Quick Nurse or the Compliance Portal. From your expiry date, a button will be available on both applications to submit your claim. In the event that you have fallen non-compliant, you can submit a query within the same section. Once we have processed and validated your claim, we will issue payment of the requested claim within 10 working days.
- Claims for renewals that fall at the end of the month can be made from the 1st of the following month. Claims can only be made within 28 days of the NMC/NMBI expiry date.
- This scheme is not affiliated with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
- The Scottish Nursing Guild reserves the right to:
- Vary the terms and conditions of the NMC/NMBI renewal fee scheme at its absolute discretion.
- Cancel or discontinue the NMC/NMBI renewal fee scheme without having to pay any outstanding claims, introduce a replacement scheme, offer compensation or inform nurses or midwives.
